July

4th of July. America's Independence day. With fireworks and free-flow beer and lots of fun, joy and laughter.

Back during the revolution, 4th of July was the day America gained her independence from Great Britain way back in 1776. It was a day gained with much death and suffering, through wars and pain and illnesses and disease.

And today, we celebrate it with fireworks, song and dances and family holidays across the United States.

Which makes you think what Singapore's national day would be when the Founders of Singapore have passed on and generations of Singaporeans lived and breathed the air of freedom that has been passed down. Would it be appreciated? Or would families take their loved ones to a trip overseas, thankful for a day of rest and relaxation away from work?

Think about it.
